THE ITINIRARY
You will be picked up from your hotel to visit the National Museum of Civilizations, located at
Alfustat the oldest Islamic capital, which is now part of old Cairo, the museum includes a collection of
50000 artifacts presents Egyptian civilization from prehistoric era till present day plus 22 mummies of
Ancient Egyptian Pharaohs, then proceed to visit the hanging church which is one of the oldest churches
in Egypt, believed to have been built in the 3 rd century AD, dedicated to Virgin Mary. Then visit Ben Ezra
Synagogue which dates back to the 9 th century and has undergone several renovations over the years,
then drive to visit the citadel of Cairo (Saladin’s citadel) was built in the 12 th century by Saladin to protect
Cairo from the crusaders, and served as a royal residence and military stronghold for several centuries
and including within the citadel is the alabaster mosque of Mohamed Ali, which is a prominent land
mark of Cairo with its large dome and minarets.
